A WORD FROM THE PASTOR

Welcome to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. We are a small town church that has a big heart for the gospel of Jesus Christ. Set upon a hill in the beautiful Sequatchie Valley, Chapel Hill has been proclaiming the love of Christ for 150 years. We are very proud of our history, but we are even more excited about our future. As the pastor, it’s been my joy to see how God has used and continues to use us to build his kingdom.

We have a very simple mission statement "To receive the gospel, to live the gospel and to give the gospel of Jesus Christ". This mission statement is at the heart of all we do at Chapel Hill. Every activity, which takes place in our church, must in some way fulfill at least one aspect of our mission statement. When we receive, live and give the love of Christ, not only do we grow in our personal relationship with the Lord, but we are also fulfilling the great commission Jesus gave to all believers to go and make disciples.

Our church provides a variety of ways and opportunities for spiritual growth and fellowship. You will find that our worship is alive and exciting and will help you to experience God in a meaningful way, not only do we provide a weekly bible study at church, but we have begun small group studies which meet in homes. This is an exciting new ministry that we will continue to develop in the future. Christ is best experienced when Gods people gather together and so we enjoy fellowshipping together as often as possible. Whether its sharing food at a covered dish dinner or sitting around a bond fire after our annual hayride, we gather together as often as we can.

We have programs for all ages, children through older adults, which are Christ centered. Generally speaking, we are a relatively young church with lots of children. We take seriously, our responsibility to bring our children up in the way of Christ. . We understand that Gods kingdom can only grow if our children grow in their faith. We are committed to see that is just what happens.

We hope that you will find the information on our website helpful. If you have any questions you would like to ask, please feel free to e-mail the church at, Preacher@ChapelHill-UMC.com or call the church office at (423-949-4847.
